Özet

Salgınlar içinde doğdukları toplumların sosyal, ekonomik, politik ve psikolojik yapısında çeşitlideğişimler yaratır. Covid-19 salgınının sosyal boyutunun önemli bir bileşeni olarak cinsiyet, krizinsosyal etkilerini büyük oranda şekillendirmiştir. Hastalığın ve ölümlerin görülme sıklığından, sağlıkçalışanlarının ve diğer ön saflarda çalışanların cinsiyetine, ev içinde işlerin dağılımından, ev içi şiddetoranlarına kadar bu etkinin sonuçlarınca belirlenmektedir. Covid-19 salgının cinsiyet boyutunu vetoplumsal cinsiyete etkilerini incelemek sosyal bilimcilerin önünde önemli bir araştırma alanı olarakdurmaktadır. Bu çalışma erkeklik rollerinde bir kriz ve değişim fırsatı olarak salgın sürecinde evdeolmanın ve evden çalışma deneyiminin erkekler üzerinde yarattığı değişimi anlamayı amaçlamaktadır.Nitel bir araştırma olarak tasarlanan çalışmada farklı şehirlerde yaşayan, farklı eğitim, yaş ve sosyoekonomik statülerde bulunan, kartopu örneklem ile seçilen ve salgın sürecinde farklı sürelerle evdeolmayı/evden çalışmayı deneyimlemiş 20 erkek katılımcı ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmış veveriler betimsel analiz kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Görüşülen erkekler bu süreçte ev işlerine ve çocukbakımına daha çok katıldıklarını, ev içinde cinsiyete dayalı iş bölümü ve rol dağılımında değişimleryaşadıklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Bu değişimin boyutunu egemen erkeklik değerlerinde bir dönüşümolarak nitelemek için çok erken olsa bile; Covid-19 salgını sonrası evden ve esnek çalışmanın hemerkekler hem de kadınlar için kalıcılaşacağını, evin bir çalışma mekânı olarak yeni konumunu ve budurumun bir “kriz” ve bir değişim fırsatı olarak erkeklik hallerinde yaratacağı kırılmayı anlamanınönemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

Pandemics create various changes in the social, economic, political and psychological structure of the societies in which they were born. As an important component of the social dimension of the Covid-19 outbreak, gender has largely shaped the social impact of the crisis. This situation is determined by the results of this effect, from the incidence of diseases and deaths, to the gender of health workers and other frontline workers, from the distribution of work in the home to the rates of domestic violence. Examining the gender dimension of the Covid-19 epidemic and its effects on gender stands as an important research area for social scientists. This study aims to understand the change created by the experience of being at home and working from home during the epidemic as a crisis and opportunity for change in masculine roles. In the study, which was designed as a qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 male participants who lived in different cities, had different education, age and socio-economic status, were selected with snowball sampling, and experienced being at home/working from home for different periods during the epidemic, and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. . The men taht we conducted our interviews with stated that they participated more in housework and childcare during this process, and that they experienced changes in the division of labor and role distribution based on gender in the home. Even if it is premature to characterize the extent of this change as a transformation in dominant masculinity values, after Covid-19, flexible working from home will become permanent for both men and women, the new position of the home as a work place and this situation as a "crisis" and change opportunity.
