Abstract
Diffuse idiopathic sceletal hyperosteosis (DISH) is a disease which is encountered over 5 th decade withan unknown etiology and charactherised with ossification of the anterior and lateral part of the vertebral body. Dysphagia is one of the syndromes in cervical vertebra occupation. Our case was 60 year-old man and admitted to our emergency with complaint of dysphagia and weakness of upper and lower limbs after trauma. Quadriparesia was examined at the neurological examination. The vertebral column direct graphies, cervical CT and MRI examinations were studied and cervical central cord syndrome and DISH were diagnosed. Antiedema therapy was administered to the patient. The patient had physical therapy after recovering of his complaints. The diagnotical, clinical and radiological features of DISH were evaluated under the light of literature.
Özet
Yaygın idiopatik iskelet hiperostozu (DISH) 5 inci dekattan sonra görülen etiyolojisi bilinmeyen, vertebral kolonun anterior ve sağ lateral kesimlerindeki ossifikasyonlarla karakterize bir hastalıktır. Bu hastalığın servikal tutulumunda disfaji karşılaşılan semptomlardan birisidir. Olgumuz 60 yaşında erkek hasta travma sonrası artan yutma güçlüğü, üst ve alt extremitede güçsüzlük şikayeti ile acil servise müracaat etti. Nörolojik muayenesinde quadriparezisi mevcuttu. Vertebral kolon direkt grafîleri, servikal CT ve MRG incelemeleri yapıldı ve servikal santral kord sendromu ve DISH tanısı konuldu. Hastaya antiödem tedavisi başlanıldı. Şikayetlerinin ileri derece düzelmesi sonucu fizik tedavi programına alındı. Makalemiz'de DISH'in tanı, klinik, radyolojik özellikleri literatür eşliğinde gözden geçirilerek değerlendirildi.
