Zona zoster in a healthy, 7-months aged child

Abstract

Zona Zoster is an eruptional disease characterized with sensitive vesicles and papules along one or more sensual nerves on unilateral erithematous ground, occurring following reactivation of Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) which is acquired during varicella infection. Generally Zona Zoster is seen in the adult age; additionally it is seen in an earlier age in the patients with immunosuppressive disease. In our case report we present a 7-months aged patient without any immunosuppressive disease or undergoing varicella disease who was diagnosed as Zona Zoster

Özet

Zona Zoster, Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) nün reaktivasyonu sonucu oluşan, bir veya daha fazla duyu siniri boyunca lokalize, tek taraflı, eritemli zeminde hassas vezikül ve papüllerle karakterize döküntülü bir hastalıktır. Zona zoster genellikle erişkin yaşlarda görülmekle birlikte immunsupresif hastalığı olanlarda daha erken yaşlarda da görülmektedir. Burada 7 aylık, immunsupresif bir hastalığı olmayan ve daha önce suçiçeği geçirmediği bildirilen zona zoster tanısı koyduğumuz bir hasta sunulmuştur.
