The management of a term pregnant woman with multiple sclerosis

Abstract
Multiple sclerosis is a disease which often attacks young women, is characterized by demyelinisation of the central nervous system and progresses with relapses and remissions. The antenatal care of a pregnant woman with multiple sclerosis is as routine pregnancy follow-up. During pregnancy, a decrease in the relapse rate is observed. In addition, no adverse effect of disease on pregnancy, labor and delivery has been shown. In this study, a case with multiple sclerosis referred to our clinic at the 39th gestational week is presented with a literature review.
Özet
Multipl skleroz; çoğunlukla genç kadınlarda görülen, merkezi sinir sisteminin demyelinizasyonu ile karakterize, nüks ve remisyonlarla seyreden bir hastalıktır. Multipl sklerozlu bir gebenin, antenatal takibi rutin gebelik takibi gibidir. Gebelik süresince nükslerde azalma gözlenmektedir. Ayrıca bu hastalığın gebeliğe, doğum eylemi ve doğum üzerine herhangi bir olumsuz etkisi gösterilmemiútir. Bu çalıúmada, gebeliğinin 39. haftasında kliniğimize refere edilen multipl sklerozlu bir olgu literatür eúli÷inde sunulmuútur.
