Abstract
Septicemias in the newborn caused by Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) due to scalp abscess or infected cephalhaematoma are known entities. Caput succadeneum due to difficult delivery and use of vacuum, and septicemia seen afterwards are more rarely reported. In this article, giant caput succadeneum in a case with the history of difficult delivery at home was confirmed with computed tomography. It was surgically drained and E.Coli proliferated in cultivation. Caput succadeneum and its relationship with E. Coli sepsis have been discussed.
