Gulshan-ı Rāz As a Poetic Sufi classic

Abstract

This article examines the Persian Islamic didactic masnawi Gulshan-ı Rāz by Mahmûd Shabustarī who have a highly important place in the history of Islamic thought. In this study we will first present brief information about Shabustarīs life and his works. Then, we will deal with the writing process of Gulshan-ı Rāz and Amir Hüseynīs questions as the driving force in this process. After dealing with Gulshan-ı Rāz s content and literary features, the study ends with the as - sessment of the literature which emerged around this work and its effects on other works of the classical period.

Özet

Tasavvufî düşünce târihinde önemli bir yeri olan Mahmûd Şebüsterînin Gülşen-i Râz isimli Farsça tasavvufî-didaktik mesnevîsinin incelendiği bu çalışmada, önce Mahmûd Şebüsterînin hayâtı ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş, ardından bunlardan tasavvuf klasikleri arasına girmiş olan eseri Gülşen-i Râz ın yazılış süreci ve yazılmasına sebep olan Emîr Hüseynînin soruları ele alınmıştır. Gülşen-i Râz ın muhtevâsı ve edebî özelliklerine de temas edildikten sonra, eser etrâfında klasik dönemde ortaya çıkan literatür ve tesirleri değerlendirilmiştir.
