Abstract

In this article, we made an attempt at dwelling on the interest in Ibn al 'Arabî in the West from historical perspective in general. Therefore, in this study we intend to discuss the influence which Ibn al 'Arabî's works and teachings have exercised in the Western world, especially the tradition of eternal wisdom which developed in this framework. Accordingly, we will research and analyze herein the Ibn al 'Arabî-related studies performed by western scholars such as translations, editions and studies etc. in general. This study is must considered as a bibliographical introduction that will guide the researchers who are willing to make further studies in this subject.

Özet

Bu makalede Batı'da İbnü'l-Arabî'ye gösterilen ilginin tarihî seyrini genel olarak ele almaya çalıştık. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada İbnü'l-Arabî'nin eserleri ve öğretilerinin Batı dünyasına olan etkisini ve özellikle bu çerçevede gelişen ezelî hikmet geleneğini ortaya koymayı amaçladık. Bu doğrultuda burada, İbnü'l-Arabî ile ilgili olarak; tercüme, tahkîk ya da müstakil araştırmalar vs. Ģeklinde batılı ilim adamları tarafından ortaya konulan eserleri genel olarak inceleyip tahlil etmeye çalışacağız. Bu çalışma, bu konuda daha detaylı araştırmalar yapmak isteyenlere yol gösterecek giriş mahiyetinde bir bibliyografik çalışma olarak görülmelidir.
