Investigation of the effect of the liquid based fuel filter on the diesel engine characteristics

Abstract

In this study, the variation of the engine characteristics are investigated with the aid of liquid based fuel filter, which is added to the fuel circuit, in addition to the paper based fuel filter used in diesel engine. The result of the experiments has show that the fuel consumption (when the liquid based fuel filter is connected in series to the fuel circuit) decreases depending on the improvement of the combustion efficiency and exhaust gas blackness rate (Sz-Bosch) becomes less at high speed of rotation and load, when the engines run especially in very cold weather.
