Place of the tale in child education: A case of arabian nights (one thousand and one nights) tales

Abstract
Tales are people’s cultural accumulation and carry on their existences by transferring from generation to generation. Tales generally deliver to listener the regulation of people’s cultural and moral with fanciful motifs and surreal heroes. For this reason, tales educational function is given importance. Especially, the benefits of feeding of children with tales in terms of their growth are frequently emphasized. In this article, study of the tales in terms of child development is planned by considering religious and moral motifs of Arabian Nights (One Thousand and One Nights) which is famous Eastern legend.

Masallar, toplumların kültür birikimleri olup nesilden nesle aktarılarak varlıklarını sürdürürler. Masallar genellikle toplumun kültürel ve ahlâkî kurallarını hayal ürünü motiflerle ve gerçek üstü kahramanlarla dinleyiciye ulaştırırlar. Bu nedenle masalların eğitimsel işlevleri önemsenmiş ve özellikle çocukların masalla beslenmesinin onların gelişimi açısından yarar sağlayacağı sıkça vurgulanmıştır. Bu makalede meşhur bir Doğu efsanesi olan Binbir Gece Masallarının dinî ve ahlâkî motifleri göz önünde bulundurularak çocuk gelişimi açısından incelenmesi planlanmıştır.
