Özet
MÖ. II.binde Hint-Avrupalı kavimlerden olan Hititler; Boğazköy merkez olmak üzereAnadolu’da Hitit Devleti’ni kurmuşlardır. Boğazköy’de yapılan kazılarda gün yüzüneçıkarılan tabletlerin büyük bir bölümünün dini içerikli olması Hititler’in dine çok önemverdiklerini göstermektedir. Eski Hitit Dönemine (MÖ 1680-1400) tarihlendirilençiviyazılı metinlerde; Güneş Tanrısı, Fırtına Tanrısı, Tanrıça Inara, Taht TanrıçasıḪalmašuit ve Tanrı Telipinu gibi çok az sayıda tanrı adları geçmektedir. Fetihçi birtoplum olan Hititler’in siyasi ve askeri olarak geliştikleri dönemde, yani imparatorlukdöneminde (MÖ 1400-1190) boyundurukları altına aldıkları devletlerin tanrılarını kenditanrılar topluluğuna katarak pantheonlarını oldukça genişlettikleri bu döneme aitmetinlerde geçen tanrı adlarının çeşitliliğinden öğrenilmektedir. Bu çalışma, politeistyani çok tanrılı bir inanışa sahip olan Hititler’in tanrılar topluluğunda yer alan TanrıUbiḭa’nın adının anlamını, kökenini, tanrının nasıl ve ne zaman kutsanıldığını Hititçiviyazılı belgelerden elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda filolojik değerlendirmelerleortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır.
Abstract
The Hittites community who are eponym of Indian-European in the second millenium B.C.; basing the Boğazköy as the center, have estabilished the state of Hittite in Anatolia. The fact that most of the tablets that are unearthed in the excavations of Boğazköy are religion oriented, reveals that Hittite attach much importance to religion. In the cunieforms texts that are traced back to Ancient Hittite era, so less amount of names of gods such as Sun God, Storm God, The goddess Inara, Throne Goddess Halmašuit and God Telipinu are ascribed. The era in which the Hittite who are a conqueror society, thrived in terms of military and politics which is in their empire era, the fact that they enlarged their pantheon by including of the gods and goddess of the nations which they yoked is infered by the versatility of names of the gods which is mentioned in the texts of that era. In this study aims, polytheist, Hittite who has a creed of multiple gods, the meaning of the name of the God Ubiḭa who ranks among the Hittite society of gods, its origin, how and when the god was blessed, will be evaluated in the light of gathered data from the Hittite cunieform texts.
