Özet
XVI. yüzyıl Osmanlı tarihi ile ilgili çalışmalarda en fazla bilgi içeren kaynaklarhiç şüphesiz tahrir defterleridir. Kütahya söz konusu defterler yönüyle zengindir. Budefterler çalışmanın başlıca kaynağı durumundadır. XVI. yüzyıl Osmanlı yerleşimbirimlerindeki ticaret yapılan başlıca mekanlar, çarşılar, pazar yerleri, bedestenler, hanlarve kervansaraylar ile her türden ticaret mallarının satıldığı dükkanlardır.
Abstract
The sources containing the widest information in the studies related to the 16th century Ottoman history are undoubtedly the tahrir registers. Kutahya is rich in terms of this aforementioned registers which are the primary sources of the current study. The major trading places of the 16th century Ottoman settlements were markets, bazaar places, covered bazaars, large commercial buildings (han), caravansaries, and the shops where any kind of trade materials were sold. In the Ottoman sources of early period, it is quite difficult to detect the individual estates used as trading places. Especially, the detection is more difficult for the periods and places where Judical Registers (Şeriye Sicilleri) do not exist. Nevertheless, due to the fact that the records and procedures related to foundations were kept and preserved splendidly, it is possible to determine almost all commercial places. For this reason, a study based on Kutahya City's commercial places belonging to foundations will significantly enable general commercial capacity and properties of the area to be understood. There is a lot of foundations in Kutahya and there are many caravanserais, covered bazaars and shops belonging to these foundations. In the scope of this study, we will deal with the determination of foundations’ realties related to trade in the 16th century and their all kinds of movements related to these foundations in Kutahya city.
