Abstract

t This study was carried out to determine the storage conditions of the newly developed hybrid “P20” genotype in Alata Horticultural Research Institute mandarin plots. For this purpose, after harvesting hybrid “P20”, parent “Clemantine” mandarin and “Orlando Tangelo”, in cold storages with 85-90% relative humidity at 4 oC and 6 oC, each application should be stored for 3 months and 3 replicate, 15 fruits per replicate. During the storage period, physical and chemical analyzes were made every 15 days, and the changes in the fruits were monitored, and the storage conditions of the hybrid fruits were determined. The average weight loss of mandarins kept in both conditions was 2.45% in hybrid 'P20', 2.37% in “Clemantine” and 1.94% in “Orlando” variety. While the average amount of SSC in fruits was 7.2% at the beginning of storage, it was determined as 11.61% at the end of storage. The spoilage rate of fruits stored at 4 °C due to fungal causes was 0.54%, while the rate of deterioration due to fungal reasons was 1.06% for fruits stored at 6°C. Decreases in titratable acid (TEA) amounts were detected in both storage conditions. While titratable acid amounts were 1.33%, it was determined as 0.75% at the end of 90 days. In general, decreases and increases were determined in the glucose amounts of hybrid and parent fruits at both temperatures until the end of storage. The fruit sugar glucose amounts of the fruits stored at both temperatures were found to be 2.73 mg/100 mL in hybrid 'P20', 2.73 mg/100 mL in “Clemantine” cultivar and 3.38 mg/100mL in “Orlando” cultivar. As a result, it has been determined that the hybrid “P20” can be maintained at 4 oC and 85-90% relative humidity conditions, where the fruit quality is preserved for 90 days and the deterioration due to fungal reasons is the least.
