Atatürk and Right of Education

Abstract

This article has focused on Atatürk’s approach about education in general and its importance for increasing all the material and spiritual powers of a nation in her life-struggle. The principle of the Unity of Teaching had become the main policy for education. It is considered as a big achievement also for human rights. It is pointed out that education is a basic human right. It has been recognized (and practiced) for everybody after the cultural revolution led by Atatürk. His many speeches had been devoted to the importance of education (of the nation). So, the issue is evaluated around human rights concepts and its philosophical formation and, the new possibilities or ways provided by Atatürk is examined.

Eğitim temel bir insan hakkıdır. Atatürk’ün kültür devriminden sonra eğitim herkes için temel bir hak olmuştur. Atatürk’ün meclis konuşmalarında, söylev ve demeçlerinde, eğitim ve önemi üzerine düşüncelerini bulabiliriz. Bu çalışmada insan hakları kavramına felsefi açıdan bakılmış ve Atatürk’ün eğitime getirdiği yeni olanaklar ele alınmıştır.
