Abstract
The article, firstly, provides a conceptual clarity through searching for an answer to the question of what is and is not genocide. After examining the articles of the Genocide Convention which was adopted on 12 September 1948 unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly, political and mass media's consuming has been emphasized.

Yazı, soykırım nedir ne değildir sorusuna yanıt arayarak öncelikle kavram konusuna açıklık getirmektedir. 12 Eylül 1948 tarihinde Birleşmiş Milletler Genel Kurulu 'nda oybirliği ile benimsenen "Genocide Sözleşmesi "nin maddeleri çerçevesinde incelemelerin ardından soykırımın, siyasal ve medyatik tüketimi üzerinde durulmuştur.
