The structural characteristics and problems of the Azerbaijan banking sector in the global financial crisis environment

Abstract

This article has attempted to explore the current structure and characteristics of the Banking Sector of Azerbaijan and to scrutinize the restructuring of the Sector following the global financial crisis that has started in 2008. With an aim to ensure financial stability in the banking system, the Central Bank's anti-crisis measures have been analyzed and, constructive suggestions and recommendations concerning the reforms effective in curing global financial problems and the implementation of pro-modernization policies in banking sector have been set forth in the study.

Makalede Azerbaycan bankacılığının günümüzdeki yapısı ve özellikleri ile ilgili incelemeler yapılmıştır. Makalede, 2008 yılında başlayan küresel mali kriz sonrası Azerbaycan bankacılık sektörünün yeniden yapılandırılması incelenmiştir. Bankacılık sisteminde mali istikrarın sağlanması için Merkez Bankasının kriz önleyici olguları analiz edilmiş ve küresel finansal sorunların çözümünde etkili olan önemli reformlara ve bankacılık sektöründe modernizasyon amaçlı politikaların uygulanmasına ilişkin önerlerde bulunulmuştur.
