Emergency anesthesiological approach in a severely anemic hereditary spherocytosis case

Abstract
We presented an emergency case of severe preoparative anemia (Hb value 3.8 gr.dl<sup>-1</sup>) undergoing splenectomy and ooferectomy procedure under general anesthesia. Hematologic diagnosis of the case was hereditary spherocytosis and thalessemia minor and the patient was at high risk for transfusion reaction due to allo and oto antibodies. In this case report, general anesthetic approach in chronic anemia and transfusion policy has been emphasized.
Özet
Bu çalışmada preoperatif ciddi anemisi (Hb değeri 3.8 gr.dl -1 ) bulunan ve acil şartlarda splenektomi ve ooferektomi operasyonu için genel anestezi uygulanan bir olgu sunuldu. Tanısı herediter sferositoz ve Thalessemia minör olan bu olgu allo ve oto antikorları nedeniyle transfüzyon açısından yüksek risk taşımakta idi. Bu olgu sunusunda kronik anemide acil şartlarda uygulanan anestezi ve transfüzyon yaklaşımı tartışılmıştır.
