Anesthesia in a child with hypercalcaemia secondary to primary hyperparathyroidism (Case report)

Abstract
It is very rare for a patient to have to be submitted for surgery and anaesthesia with severe hypercalcaemia unresponsive to medical treatment. Hypercalcaemia has been associated with serious ventricular arrhythmia and sudden cardiac arrest in patients with hyperparathroidism. In this paper, pre, per and postoperative management and anaesthetic approach was described in a 4 months old girl patient with hypercalcaemia secondary to primary hyperparathyroidism a undergoing total parathyroidectomy and heterotopic autotransplantation of parathyroid tissue.
Özet
Tıbbi tedaviye yanıt vermeyen, kalsiyumu çok yüksek hastaların cerrahi tedavi için anesteziye alınması çok nadirdir. Hiperparatroidizmli hastalarda, hiperkalsemiyle beraber ciddi ventriküler aritmi ve ani kalp durması görülebilir. Bu yazımızda, primer hiperparatroidiye bağlı hiperkalsemisi olan ve total paratroidektomi ve paratroid dokunun heterotopik ototrasplantasyonu uygulanan, 4 aylık kız çocuğunda uyguladığımız pre, per ve postoperatif yaklaşım ve anestezik yöntem tartışılmıştır.
