Abstract

Administered an effective epidural block reduces the intraoperative surgical stress resulting from sympathetic stimulation.Hence, Thoracic epidural anesthesia (TEA) may have beneficial effects on the ischemic myocardium. The use of epidural anesthesiaand analgesia in a group of high risk surgical patients is associated with decreased post operative morbidity an d improvedoperative outcome. We have presented three cases with high risk in which segmental block with thoracic epidural anesthesia canbe effective in upper abdominal surgeries with spontaneous respiration

Özet

Efektif uygulanan bir epidural blok cerrahi stres sonucu oluşan intraoperatif sempatik stimulasyonu azaltır. Bunun sonucunda,torakal epidural anestezinin (TEA) iskemik miyokard üzerinde faydalı etkileri olabilir. Epidural anestezi ve postoperatif epiduralanaljezi yüksek riskli hastalarda cerrahi sonuçları iyileştirirken postoperatif morbiditeyi azaltır. Bu makalede kardiyak ve pulmoneraçıdan riskli 3 olguda başarı ile uygulanan segmental torakal epidural anestezi deneyimi sunulmuştur
