Abstract
Nergisî, regarded as the most important representative of poetic prose in our classical literature, collected ten different love stories in his work, Meşâkku'l-Uşşâk. Most of these stories, which are inspired by real life experiences, reflect the social environment and the historical period of the author. This work, therefore, realistically conveys various aspects of 17th Century Ottoman social life through the powerful observations of the author. This study points to and analyzes various elements of the social life of the period as reflected in the stories in Meşâkku'l-Uşşâk.
Özet
Sanatlı nesrin klasik edebiyatımızdaki en önemli temsilcisi kabul edilen Nergisî, birbirinden bağımsız on aşk hikâyesini Meşâkku'l-Uşşâk adını verdiği eserinde toplamıştır. Yaşanmış olaylardan hareketle yazılmış bu hikâyelerin çoğu, yazarın bulunduğu sosyal çevreye ve yaşadığı döneme aittir. Yazarın gözlem gücünü de gösteren eser, özellikle XVII. yüzyıl Osmanlı toplum hayatının çeşitli yönlerini realist bir biçimde yansıtmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Meşâkku'l-Uşşâk'taki hikâyelerden hareketle dönemin toplum hayatına ilişkin unsurlar tespit edilip incelenmiştir.
