This paper presents the results of a statistical study and physicochemical characterization of PM in the context ofKraków, Poland. A statistical study of PM10 and PM2.5 pollution was carried out using data collected from fivesensors (covering the city area) of Airly, part of a platform with over 3000 PM. sensors located in 15 Europeancountries. The relationship between PM properties, air temperature, humidity and atmospheric air pressure wastested using the Shapiro Wilk test and by creation of a Tau Kendall correlation matrix. Samples of PM collectedon anti-smog mask filters were subjected to physicochemical analyses using a scanning electron microscopeequipped with a chemical composition analysis system based on energy dispersive X-rays. The number offractions and differences in the chemical composition of samples were determined. This example of PM concentration monitoring in Kraków may be of interest and a useful tool for raising public awareness of air pollution.
