Experimental investigation of ice formation around a tube in rectangular tank

Abstract
In this study, ice formation around a cooled cylinder in rectangular cavity was investigated. Experiments were carried out with different flow rates and water temperatures inside the tank and the thickness of the ice formed at the bottom, top, right and left sides around the tube were measured. It was found that ice thickness at top is higher than at the bottom, right and left. The results show that increase in flow rate increases the thickness of the ice formed around the tube.
Özet
Bu çalısmada, bir tank içerisine yerlestirilmis yatay bir boru etrafındaki buz olusumu incelenmistir. Deneyler iki farklı debide yapılmıs, tank içerisindeki su sıcaklıkları ve boru etrafında dört farklı noktada (üst, alt, sağ ve sol) buz kalınlıkları ölçülmüstür. Boru üstündeki buz kalınlığının alt, sağ ve sol taraflardaki kalınlıklardan daha fazla olduğu belirlenmistir. Glikol debisinin artırılması ile boru etrafındaki tüm noktalarda buz kalınlığı artmıstır.
