A comparable investigation on the properties of cotton fibers produced in Syria and Turkey

Abstract
Cotton has a very important role in the Syrian and Turkish economy. Syria is an important cotton providor for Turkey. İn this study, samples of five cotton varieties produced in the season 2005-2006 from both countries were used. The standart quality tests were applied for all samples. By comparing the test results, the samples gave the best test result were trying to be found.
Özet
Pamuğun Suriye ve Türkiye ekonomisinde aldığı yer çok önemlidir. Suriye, Türkiye’nin önemli pamuk lifi tedarikçilerinden biridir. Bu çalışmada, 2005-2006 sezonunda her iki ülkeden beş çeşit pamuk numunesi kullanılmıştır. Tüm pamuk numuneleri üzerine standart kalite testleri uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen test sonuçları karşılaştırılarak en iyi sonuç veren pamuk numuneleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
