Main economic indicators in Turkey and industrial sector-II: Osmaniye Sample

Abstract

In thıs study, The status of Osmaniye Industrial Sector has been evaluated with respect to main economic indicators of Turkey in comparison with those of neighboring cities or provinces. For this analyses, firstly, a brief description about demographic and economic situation of Mediterranean Region has been given, then, the value added of which the Industrial Sector of Osmaniye created and the development of this sector comparable with those of the neighboring cities have been handled. The development of industry in sectoral base, the total state investments in the sector concerned and the condition of Osmaniye Organized Industrial Region have also been examined. It has been shown that the Industrial Sector of Osmaniye has in an underdeveloped position in comparing with those of the neighboring provinces and Turkey as a whole.

Özet

Bu çalısmada Osmaniye sanayi sektörünün durumu temel ekonomik göstergeler bakımından ve komsu iller ile karsılastırmalı olarak değerlendirilmistir. Bu çerçevede öncelikle Akdeniz bölgesinin demografik ve ekonomik yapısı ile ilgili kısa bilgiler verilip, Osmaniye sanayi sektörünün yarattığı katma değer ve komsu illere kıyasla sanayi sektörünün gelisimi ele alınmıstır. Sanayinin sektörel olarak gelisimi, aldığı toplam kamu yatırımları ve Osmaniye Organize Sanayi Bölgesinin durumu değerlendirilmistir. Gerek Türkiye genelinde gerekse de komsu illere göre Osmaniye sanayi sektörünün oldukça geri kalmıs olduğu belirlenmistir.
