An analysis of social-economical development parameters: evaluation for Osmaniye province

Abstract
In this study, main economic indicators being taken into account in determining the development level of a region or province has been evaluated along with the examination of Osmaniye Province’s social-cultural-economical profile with respect to selected social-economical parameters. Within the frame of investigation, the reasons for underdevelopment of Osmaniye and the development potential to be considered has also been summarized. As a result of these evaluations, the certain drawbacks and problems being determined with respect to selected parameters and the sectors concerned have been presented along with the suggestions for the solutions.
Özet
Çalısmada, bir bölgenin veya kentin gelisme derecesi belirlenirken dikkate alınması gereken temel göstergeler özetlenmis ve seçilmis sosyo-ekonomik parametreler esas alınarak Osmaniye Đli’nin sosyo-kültürel-ekonomik profili Türkiye’deki yeri de belirtilmek suretiyle ortaya konulmustur. Çalısma kapsamında Osmaniye’nin gelisememe sebepleri ve değerlendirilmesi gereken kalkınma potansiyeli de özetlenmistir. Yapılan bu değerlendirmeler sonucu, seçilmis parametreler ve sektörler bazında tespit edilen belli baslı sorunlar çözüm önerileriyle birlikte verilmistir.
