Metastatic malignant melanoma of the parotid gland

Abstract
Two cases of metastatic malignant melanoma of the parotid gland are presented. The head and neck primaries in both cases were excised by the surgeons apart from our clinic, 3 and 5 years ago respectively. No histopathologic examination was made in one of the cases, and the other was misdagnosed as nevus. Total parotidectomy was performed to the cases and the parotid metastases of the cutaneus malignant melanoma were noted and reviewed in the light of the literature.
Özet
Parotiste metastatik malign melanomlu iki olgu sunulmuştur. İki olguda da baş boyundaki primer odak 3 ve 5 yıl önce kliniğimiz dışındaki cerrahlar tarafından çıkarılmıştır. Birinde histopatolojik inceleme yapılmamış, diğerinde ise yanlış olarak nevüs tanısı almıştır. Olgularda total parotidektomi uygulanarak baş boyundaki cilt melanomlarının parotis metastazları vurgulanmış ve literatür bilgileri ışığında gözden geçirilmiştir.
