Abstract
All procedures and surgical interventions involving the airway pose a high risk for health workers due to the severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS CoV-2) transmission. The most appropriate conditions and methods should be chosen for the examination, laryngoscopic evaluation and surgical procedures of patients with voice and speech disorders due to aerosol formation. In this critical process, many professional organizations publish guidelines to limit the spread of the disease, reduce transmission, and protect health workers. These guidelines should be updated based on new developments and information, and made commonly available.
