Abstract
The sübject of this article covers Condillac's approach on the relation between the thought and language. Condillac is a philosopher who attached a particular weight on language so as to expose the human understanding operations. To his mind, the things that create the memory are signs and in this respect "a memory without signs" is an inconsistent, in other words an impossible notion. Condillac aserts that ideas connect to each others only via signs. For Condillac, language is essentially a system of signs. According to Condillac, it is impossible for a human to have a pre-linguistic or extra-linguistic thought. The though may form only by virtue of signs in other words language. For Condillac, speaking, reasoning and generating abstract ideas are fundamentally same things.
Condillac'a göre, konuşmak, muhakeme etmek, soyut idealar üretmek, temelde aynı şeydir.
