THE TRUTH PROBLEM OF THE MODERN SUBJECT

Abstract

Finding the truth is one of the main problem of philosophy. Against this problem an approach has been developed by ancient Greek in the history of philosophy. As a natural consequence of this approach an understanding of subject and truth was constituted. In modern period we saw a different understanding of subject and truth claim through Descartes' cogito. In this claim, the important point was putting the I to the centre of reality through using the form of "I think". This form was corrected and devoloped by Kant. Thus, Kant tried to construct this cogito with the concept of autonomy in the practical sphere. In this article we claim that searching the truth through the cogito is not appropriate for the finding very same truth.

Özet

Gerçekliğin ne olduğu felsefenin en önemli sorunlarındandır. Felsefe tarihinde antik Yunan anlayışıyla beraber söz konusu soruna karşı bir yaklaşım geliştirilmiştir. Bu yaklaşımın doğal bir sonucu olarak bir özne ve onun gerçeklik anlayışı oluşturulmuştur. Modern dönemdeyse Descartes'ın cogito anlayışı çerçevesinde şekillenen farklı bir gerçeklik ve özneyle karşılaşılmıştır. Bu yaklaşımda önemli olan nokta, düşünen ben ya da "ben düşünüyorum" formlarından hareketle gerçeklik anlayışında ben'in merkezde olmasıdır. Descartes'ın cogito anlayışı Kant tarafından düzeltilmiş ve ilerletilmiştir. Nitekim söz konusu cogito Kant'ın felsefesinde özellikle pratik alanda özyetkinlik gibi bir kavramla inşa edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yazımızda iddia ettiğimiz düşünce, söz konusu merkeziliğin ben'in gerçeklik arayışına uygun düşmeyecek şekilde sonuçlandığıdır.
