STATUS OF THE BELIEFS IN SOCIAL EPISTEMOLOGY

Abstract

The knowledge is the raising of epistemic status for the subjective verdicts. The differences among epistemologies are closely related how to occur the processes of the raising epistemic status (evincing the truth or objectification). Social epistemology rejects the ideas of truth or objectivity as traditionally accepted, and asserts which raising the statue in knowledge is obtainable with methods emerging from cross-personal interaction in social processes rather than mental ones. Alvin I. Goldman defends more moderate one in this approach that have various versions. Knowledge is achieved with cross-personal interaction in social processes. Hence it is defined as “institutionalized belief”
