Mufassal Kamus-ı Felsefenin Yayımlanmamış "Zuhur" Maddesi

Abstract

In 1913, an organisation named Istılahat-ı ilmiye was established by Maarif Nezareti (Ministry of Education) in order to solve the problems arised from the translation of some terms of modern philosophy and other sciences into Turkish. For various reasons, the organisation was no more in effect after one year. Among the significant publications of the organisation is the Mufassal Kamus-ı Felsefe by Rıza Tevfık. The author planned to publish it in ten or eleven volumes, each containing nearly eight hundred pages. Only after he wrote the heading "Classifications des Sciences", the author passed away. Some of the headings that are arranged to put in the dictionary was found in his estate as drafts. In this study, a transliteration of the heading "Zuhur" (Emanation), one of the uncompleted headings of the Kamus, will be presented.

Modern felsefe ve bilim terimlerinin Türkçe'ye girişini bir problem olmaktan çıkarmak gayesiyle 1913 yılında Maarif Nezareti tarafından, Istılahât-ı İlmiye Encümeni adı altında bir cemiyet kurulur. Encümen çeşitli sebeplerden ötürü faaliyetlerini ancak bir yıl sürdürebilmiştir. Encümenin faaliyetleri paralelinde dikkate değer çalışmalardan birisi, her bir cildi yaklaşık sekiz yüz sahife olmak üzere on ya da on bir cilt halinde tasarlanan Rıza Tevfik'e ait Mufassal Kâmus-ı Felsefe'dir. Müellif eserini ancak "Classifications des Sciences" (Tasnîf-i Ulûm) maddesine kadar tamamlayabilmiştir. Kâmus'a dahil olunmak üzere tasarladığı bazı maddeler ise vefatından sonra, müsvedde olarak terekesinden çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Kâmus'a ait fakat henüz son şeklini almadığı anlaşılan "Zuhur" (Emanation) maddesinin çevrimyazısı sunulacaktır.
