On Concept of Knowledge in Francis Bacon

Abstract

Bacon was empiricist and concieved that true knowledge could be reached by sensations. He consistently criticized standart of knowledge in his period, since erroneous and elusory ideas were reaching to everywhere, to every areas, in addition to science, philosophy etc. Besides Bacon rejected Aristotle's logic, which is based on his metaphysical theory; so desired to constitute new method for scientific investigation and new logic. In this content, this work analyses concept of knowledge in Francis Bacon through its before, both of thinker who are premises for Bacon and who are criticized by himself.

Bacon deneyciydi ve doğru bilgiye duyumlarla ulaşılabileceğini düşünüyor, yaşadığı dönemdeki bilgi standardını ısrarlı bir şekilde eleştiriyordu; zira hatalı ve yanıltıcı görüşler her yere, bilim, felsefe vb. de dahil olmak üzere her sahaya ulaşıyordu. Bunun yanında Bacon, metafizik teorisine dayanan Aristoteles mantığına da karşı çıkıyor bu yüzden hem yeni bir bilimsel araştırma yöntemi hem de yeni bir mantık geliştirmeyi arzuluyordu. Bu kapsamda bu çalışma, evvelinden, hem onun için öncü kabul edilen hem de onun tarafından eleştirilen düşünürlerden hareketle Francis Bacon'daki bilgi anlayışını incelemektedir.
