Abstract

Mehmed İsmet Efendi who was usually known as Hajji Chalabi was one of the renowned polymath scholars of the Tulip Age. In this article, we refer to his scholarly life and his studies in various branches of science. We have listed all his works, translations and the books, which he copied. One of his treatises was about the intercalation problem of the Ottoman Finance Office. Here, we edited and analyzed this treatise with explanations.

Özet

Bu makalede Lale Devrinin önemli ve verimli bilim adamlanndan Hacı Çelebi lakabıyla tanınan İsmet Mehmed Efendi'nin hayatı ve eserleri incelenmiş ve tedahül meselesi ile ilgili bir eseri transkribe edilerek incelenmiştir. Osmanlı maliyesi için çok büyük problemlerden birisi olan tedahül konusunun problemlerinin ele alındığı bu Risalede yazar çözüm yollan üzerinde durmuştur. Mehmed Efendi gerek yazdığı eserler gerekse tercümeleri ve istinsahları ile Lale Devri'nin önemli bir ilim adamıdır.
