Medicine and deontology according to Qutb al-Din Shirazi

Abstract

Qutb al-DTn ShTrazT (d. 710/1311), who Wrote on the several disciplines such as language, commentary besides in the fields of geography, astronomy, logic, metaphysics, natural sciences, has an important place mainly in the history of the Islamic sciences and especially history of medicine. In this study, without giving biographical information about Qutb al-DTn ShTrazT, will be examined ShTrazT's view on the place of medicine in the classification of sciences and on the issues of deontology such as how a physician should be trained and ethical rules that should observe in accordance with them. In this article, it have been benefited from the works of Qutb al-DTn ShTrazT which are Bayan al-hâcah ilâ al-Tibb ve'l-atibba ve vesâyâhum and Shark al-Kulliyât al-Kânun and Shark Hikmat al-Ishraq and Durrat al-Tâj. Özet

Dil, tefsir gibi ilimlerin yanında coğrafya, astronomi, mantık, metafizik, doğa bi limleri alanlarında da eserler veren Kutbuddin Şîrâzî (ö. 710/1311) daha ziyade İslâm bilim tarihinde ve bilhassa tıp tarihinde çok önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmada Kutbuddin Şîrâzî ile ilgili biyografik malumata yer vermeden onun tıbbı, ilimler tasnifinde nerede gördüğü ve bir doktorun nasıl yetişmesi gerektiği ile riayet etmesi gereken ahlâkî kurallar gibi deontolojiyle ilgili konulara nasıl baktığı üzerinde durulacaktır. Makalemizde Kutbuddin Şîrâzî'nin Beyânü'l-hâce ile't-tıbbi ve'l-etıbbâ ve vesâyâhüm, Şer hu Külliyâti'l-Kânûn, Şerhu Hikmeti'l-İşrâk ve Dürretü't-tâc adlı eserlerinden istifade edilmiştir.
