ARISTOTLE AND PRE-SOCRATIC PHILOSOPHY

Abstract

In this work conveyances that Aristotle had made about Presocratic philosophy and philosophers will be commented. The issue of the healthiness of Aristotle's thoughts, which he had developed through criticizing his predecessor philosopers, will be evaluated. Even though Aristotle had criticized Presocratic philosophers in many of his works, these critics will be limited within two groups: Philosophers who had answered what the arkhe of universe is and sophists who came under the negative criticisms of Aristotle.

Bu çalışmada Aristoteles'in Sokrates öncesi felsefe ve filozoflar hakkında yaptığı aktarımlar değerlendirilecektir. Aristoteles çalışmalarında kendisinden önce gelen filozofların görüşlerini eleştirerek geliştirdiği düşüncelerinin ne kadar sağlıklı olduğu konusu değerlendirilecektir. Aristoteles Sokrates öncesi filozofları pek çok yapıtında eleştirmekle birlikte bu eleştiriler iki grupla sınırlanacaktır: evrenin arkhe'sinin ne olduğunu cevaplayan filozoflar ile Aristoteles'in olumsuz eleştirilerine maruz kalan sofistler.
