IN TERMS OF LOGICAL AND METAPHYSICAL THE POSIBBILITY IN THE AVERROES’S PHILOSOPHY

Abstract

Concept of possibility and possible are relationships that have widespread ope- rability with special characteristics in many disciplines such as logic, mathema- tics, physics and metaphysics. An approach to the possibilitiy has the qualities to reﬂect the characteristic of the philosophy of a philosopher as it has a wide use network. In this regard, this article with this characteristic is trying to analy- sis the ideas of Averroes that about possibility. In the context of the disciplines mentioned above, Averroes’s views on possibility is handled with a self-assess- ment. Besides, the views of Averroes, shaped by the system of Aristotle, which are both logically and metaphysically based, have been dealt with following a method by similarities or inﬂuences with Fârâbî and Ibn Sînâ. In this framework, Averroes theory of possibility is shaped by basic considerations, such as the conceptual analysis and possible use of philosophy, the logical dimension of requirement and opposition relationships, the epistemic value it receives due to the quantitative recurrence of mathematically possible propositions, and the assessment of the metaphysical dimension in many respects by determining the underlying state of possibility.

İmkân ve mümkün, mantık, matematik, fizik ve metafizik gibi birçok disiplinde, özel hususiyetlerle yaygın kullanıma sahip olan kavramlardır. İmkân olgusuna ilişkin bir yaklaşım, geniş bir kullanım ağına sahip olmasından dolayı bir filo- zofun felsefesinin karakteristiğini önemli oranda yansıtacak niteliğe sahiptir. Bu hassasiyetlerle bu makale, İbn Rüşd’ün imkâna ilişkin düşüncelerini çözümle- meye çalışmaktadır. Adı geçen disiplinler bağlamında İbn Rüşd’ün imkâna iliş- kin düşünceleri kendinden bir değerlendirmeyle ele alınmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra, gerek mantıksal gerek metafiziksel olarak temelleri durumunda olan Aristo- teles’in sistemiyle şekillenen İbn Rüşd’ün imkâna ilişkin görüşleri, Fârâbî ve İbn Sînâ ile olan benzerlik veya etkilenmeler göz önünde bulundurmak suretiyle bir yöntem takip edilmiştir. Bu çerçevede İbn Rüşd’ün imkân hakkındaki düşünce- leri, tanım teorisi bağlamında mümkünün kavramsal analizi ve felsefî kullanımı, birbirini gerektirme ve karşı-olum ilişkilerinde mantıksal boyutu, matematiksel. olarak mümkün önermelerin nicel olarak tekrarından dolayı aldığı epistemik de- ğerler ve imkânın dayanak durumunun. belirlenmesiyle birçok açıdan metafizik- sel boyutunun değerlendirilmesi gibi temel meselelerle şekillenmiştir.
