A case of malignant external otitis

Abstract
A sixty-seven-year-old woman presented with granulation tissue in the external auditory canal and facial paralysis. A diagnosis of malignant external otitis was made. She was treated with intravenous ceftazidime and amikacin followed by oral ciprofloxacin for 4 to 8 weeks. At the end of a year follow-up, complete recovery of the external auditory canal and partial improvement of the facial paralysis were achieved.

Altmış yedi yaşındaki kadın hastada dış kulak yolunda granülasyon dokusu ve fasyal paralizi saptandı. Hastaya malign eksternal otit tanısı kondu. Dört-sekiz hafta süreyle intravenöz seftazidim ve amikasin ve daha sonra oral siprofloksasin tedavisi uygulandı. Bir yıl süreli takip sonucunda dış kulak yolunun tamamen, fasyal paralizinin kısmen düzeldiği
