Abstract
Many techniques have been employed in the treatment of glottic insufficiency caused by paralysis of the recurrent laryngeal nerve. In this report, we present two patients who were treated by intracordal autologous fat injection for grade III aspiration secondary to recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis. Voice, phonation, and swallowing immediately improved postoperatively; however, in one patient with multiple cranial nerve paralysis, recurrent aspiration symptoms developed six months after the operation and type I thyroplasty was performed. Both patients are alive without aspiration. Intracordal autologous fat injection seems to be an easy and safe technique with low complication rate.
