Distribution of neck metastases according to tumor localization in cancer of the larynx

Abstract
In this study, anatomic localization of tumor and distribution of neck metastases were investigated in 855 larynx cancer cases which were treated in our clinic. 714 of these cases were treated surgically and totally 896 neck dissections were performed. Glottosupraglottic region was the most common location of tumor with 322 (37.7 %) cases and upper juguler area was most common region of neck metastases with 44.4 percent. Occult metastases were seen by the ratio of 20.9 %.

Bu çalışmada larinks kanseri nedeniyle kliniğimizde tedavi edilmiş olan 855 hastada tümörün anatomik lokalizasyonu ve servikal lenf nodu metastazlarının dağılımı araştırılmıştır. Olgulardan 714 tanesine cerrahi tedavi uygulanmış ve toplam 896 boyun diseksiyonu yapılmıştır. Larinks kanseri en sık yerleşim yeri 322 olgu (%37.7) ile glottosupraglottik bölge olarak bulunmuş ve lenf nodu metastazlarının ise % 44.4 2üğn üst jugüler bölgeye olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca okkült metastaz oran %20.9 olarak tespit edilmiştir.
