Ensuring Effective Information Flow by Using PLM in Product Development Process

PLM Kullanımı ile Ürün Geliştirme Sürecinde Etkin Bilgi Akışının Sağlanması

Abstract

Knowledge is a concept without boundaries. Today it is constantly affected and developed with the rapid advance of technology. The meaningful information is created by the use and evaluation of information process. It is the most advanced form of information. It includes personal knowledge and experiences within meaningful information. With today’s increasing competition conditions, it is necessary for business organizations should be adapt quickly to changes in their environment. They should develop new products and to gain a place in the market by launching them before their competitor in order to ensure business continuity. Adapting easily to change is possible by smoothly accessing and understand changing information. During the information transfer, it provides opportunity that keep meaningful information which already existed for business organizations. In this study; firstly, the concepts of knowledge and knowledge management studies and approaches related to these concepts were examined. Then, the information flow that occurs in companies and the effect of this information flow on the new product development process are mentioned. In the last part of the study, the effect of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and information management on product development process and the advantages it provides to companies are evaluated.

Özet

Bilgi sınırları olmayan bir kavramdır. Günümüzde teknolojinin hızlı ilerleyişi ile sürekli değişmekte vegelişmektedir. Herhangi bir bilginin yorumlanması ile meydana gelen bilgi ise anlamlı bilgidir ve bilgininen gelişmiş halidir. Anlamlı bilgi içerisinde kişisel tecrübe ve deneyimleri de barındırmaktadır. Günümüzdeartan rekabet koşulları ile iş organizasyonları için çevrelerinde meydana gelen değişikliklere hızlı adapte olma, yeni ürün geliştirme ve geliştirilen yeni ürünü rakiplerinden önce piyasaya sürerek pazarda yeredinebilmeleri iş devamlılığının sağlanması için gereklidir. Değişime kolay uyum sağlamak ise değişenbilgiye kolay ulaşmak ve bu bilgiyi özümsemek ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Bu bilgi aktarımı sırasındageçmişte var olan anlamlı bilgilerin kaybolmaması iş organizasyonları için fırsatlar meydana getirmektedir.Bu çalışmada; öncelikle bilgi ve bilgi yönetimi kavramları, bu kavramlara ilişkin yapılan çalışmalar veyaklaşımlar incelenmiştir. Daha sonra şirketlerde meydana gelen bilgi akışı ve bu bilgi akışının yeni ürüngeliştirme sürecine etkisine değinilmiştir. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise Ürün Yaşam Döngüsü Yönetimi(Product Lifecycle Management, PLM) kullanımı ile bilgi yönetiminin ürün geliştirme sürecindeki etkisive şirketlere sağladığı avantajlar değerlendirilmiştir.
