Abstract
Pentachlorophenol (PCP) is an environmental contaminant that used as a fungicide, insecticide, bactericide for the preservation of wood, textile and leather products. It is present in most environmental compartmans, including those which result in direct human and animals exposure. This, study was performed to evaluate PCP levels in serum of household cats or dogs that can be exposed by different intake pathways as air inhalation, oral or dermal, from PCP-treated wood, textile or leather products. Serum samples were analysed by electron capture dedector/gas chromatography (ECD/GC). There were PCP residues as 41.16 +2 ppb (26.8-60.8 ppb) in 43 % of samples. Altough this levels are not induce toxic effects, it can act synergisticaly with the other xenobiotics.
Her türlü çevre ortamında hazır bulunmaktadır.
