Artificial insemination in the domestic cats

Abstract
Artificial insemination (AI) is a process by which sperm are collected from the male, processed, stored and artificially introduced into the female reproductive tract for the purpose of conception. AI has become one of the most important biotechnologic ever devised for the genetic improvement of animals. In this review, sexual cycles in the domestic cats, semen collection and evaluation in tom cats, and how to applying artificial insemination in cats were given some information.
Özet
Sun’i Tohumlama, erkek hayvanlardan alınan spermanın bazı işlemlerden geçirildikten sonra gebelik oluşturmak amacıyla dişi genital kanalına aktarılması işlemidir. Sun’i tohumlama hayvan ıslahı amacıyla yapılan en önemli biyoteknolojik yöntemlerden birisidir. Bu derlemede evcil kedilerde seksüel siklus, erkek kedilerden spermanın alınması ve değerlendirilmesi ile sun’i tohumlamanın nasıl yapılacağı konularında bilgiler verilmiştir.
