Abstract
At seven days bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and corn (Zea mays L.) seedlings grown at greenhouse conditions, effects of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) on transpiration rate and weight variation were studied. For experiments three different ASA concentration (50, 250,1000 ppm) were used. ASA solutions were applied to the seedling leaves by spraying. At the applications to bean seedlings; ASA, for the low concentrations (50 ppm) increased and for the high concentrations (1000 ppm), decreased transpiration (p< 0.01). Treatment of 50 and 250 ppm concentration ASA did not change % water content and % dry weight of seedlings at important ratios (p> 0.05). But AS A's high concentrations (1000 ppm), at p< 0.01 important level decreased % wet weight and % water content and increased % dry weight of seedlings. Also, some shrivelling up symptoms was observed at leaves treated 1000 ppm concentration. For treatments to the corn seedlings, each of three ASA concentrations decreased transpiration at important ratios (p< 0.01) and this decrease was obserwed more at high concentration (1000 ppm). Like bean seedlings, at treatments to com seedlings 50 ppm ASA did not change % dry weight amount and % water content. 250 ppm ASA did not change % water content importantly (p> 0.05). 250 ppm ASA increased % dry weight of seedlings (p<0.05). 1000 ppm ASA; increased % wet weight lost and % dry weight of seedlings at important ratios (p< 0.01) and decreased % water content of seedlings. It was concluded that ASA' s effect on transpiration and weight variation differs depending on plant species and at high concentrations ASA generally, decreases transpiration rate an increases dry substance rate.,
Özet
Bu çalışmada, sera koşullarında yetiştirilen 7 günlük fasulye (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) ve mısır (Zea mays L.) fidelerinde asetilsalisilik asit (ASA) 'in transpirasyon hızı ve ağırlık değişimi üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Denemelerde ASA'in üç farklı konsantrasyonu (50, 250,1000 ppm) kullanılmıştır.
