Coexistence of ureteropelvic and ureterovesical junction obstructions: A case report

Abstract

Ureteropelvic junction obstruction is the most common cause of hydronephrosis in children, llreterovesical junction obstruction is another common cause. With appropriate uroradiologic evaluation, both conditions can be easily diagnosed and corrected satisfactorily by surgery. However, diagnosis may be difficult when both conditions coexist. This case report emphasizes the importance of routine postoperative radiological evaluation in the diagnosis of a second obstruction in patients who previously underwent surgery for obstruction.

Özet

Üreteropelvik bileşke darlığı çocuklarda görülen hidronefrozun en sık sebebidir. Sık görülen diğer bir neden ise Üreterovezikal bileşke darlığıdır. Her ikisinde de tanı üroradyolojik incelemelerle konabilmekte ve uygun cerrahi tedaviyle kolaylıkla düzeltilebilmektedir. Ender olarak, Üreteropelvik bileşke darlığı Üreterovezikal darlıkla birlikte görülebilmekte ve bu durumda bir diğerinin tanısını koymak güçleşmektedir. Bu olgu sunumu, öpere edilmiş hastalarda postoperatif rutin radyolojik incelemenin ikinci obstrüksiyonun tanısını koymadaki önemini ortaya koymaktadır.
