Abstract
The contributions of the two most prominent figures of the Tanzimat Period both to Turkish literature and to social life are undeniable. Namık Kemal had a "revolutionary" attitude while Ahmet Mithat as a "reformist" started development from the people. This led to differences of opinion over political and some other issues. This article investigates the fundamental issues they agree on, or at least they hold similar opinions, and the ones they disagree.
Özet
Tanzimat devrinin iki mühim şahsiyeti Namık Kemal'le Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin edebiyata, sosyal hayata katkıları inkâr edilemez. Namık Kemal "ihtilalci" bir tavırla hareket ederken Ahmet Mithat bir "ıslahatçı" gibi ilerlemeyi halktan başlatmıştır. Bu ve başka sebeplerden ötürü aralarında fikir ayrılığı meydana gelmiştir. Yazımızda Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin Namık Kemal'le hangi konularda ayrıldığı ve hangi noktalarda benzer görüşte olduğu üzerinde durulacaktır.
