THE TERM OF IMAGE/İMGE IN POETIC STUDIES

Abstract

Terms are the most important items of scientific language. It can not be successful in science with vague terms. Some of the new terms in Turkish are problematic. One of which is also the term image. The image living a long in the West is one of the terms whose meaning is the most complicated one in history of art and science. For centuries it has been used widely in different fields. The words entering into Turkish after the Tanzimat has been termed throughout the Republic Era. However, in Turkish, origin of the term is argued. Its meaning is also vague. So, there is not a common definition of it. The purpose of whom talk about it, is not clear. Image in the poem is usually supposed statement or metafore; but it is not phrase, it is a concept. This concept is explained with verbal text of poem. In great poetry image is an ideal imagination.

Özet

Terimler, bilim dilinin en önemli unsurudur. Anlamı belirsiz terimlerle bilim yapılamaz. Türkçedeki yeni terimlerin bazıları problemlidir. Bunlardan biri de imge terimidir. Batıda uzun bir geçmişi olan imge, düşünce ve sanat tarihinin anlamı en karmaşık terimlerindendir. Değişik alanlarda asırlardan beri yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Tanzimattan sonra Türkçeye giren bu kelime Cumhuri- yet yıllarında terimleşmiştir. Ancak Türkçedeki imge teriminin menşei tartışma konusudur, anlamı ise belirsizdir. Bu yüzden ortak bir tarifi yoktur. Ondan bah- sedenlerin onunla neyi kastettikleri belli değildir. Şiirdeki imge genellikle söz veya söz sanatı zannedilir. Hâlbuki söz değil, kavramdır. Şiirin sözel metni bu kavramın ifade aracıdır. Büyük şiir geleneklerinde imge ideal bir tasavvurdur.
