THE STREET IN BEHÇET NECATİGİL’S POEMS: SAD AND UNEASY EXPERIENCES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF URBANIZATION PROCESS

BEHÇET NECATİGİL’İN ŞİİRLERİNDE SOKAK: KENTLEŞME SÜRECİ ARALIĞINDA HÜZÜNLÜ VE TEDİRGİN DENEYİMLER

Abstract

Behçet Necatigil is known as “the poet of homes” in Turkish Literature circles. Home is an important lay-by, through which he both opens a gate to his inner World and creates a contrast with the Street. In many studies on Behçet Necatigil so far, his home perception is viewed many times, but the social and artistic relationship he built with the street has not been surveyed much. Whereas, in terms of place and its contrast with the “home”, beside its being an eye opening to the outer world, where changing social conditions can be observed and, cultural and personal memories are stored, it is another lay-by as much important as “home.The Street, which connects neighbourhoods, homes, in other words, living quarters that look as if they are separated from each other, in one hand offer the possibility to the poet to feel the pulse of the city and the society with its changing forms and on the other hand he shares his opinions with the reader on how to get in contact with the Street in terms of affectivity. The Street, which rule-out the old to be remembered clearly, takes place in the poetry, both as the symbol of mistrustfulness and as a seducing source of numerous alternatives to let up the boredom. Besides, in Necatigil’s poetry; the street is an important incentive, which courages him on poetic creativity, just as the home. In the study; street images in Necatigil’s poems will be interpreted both in terms of social upheaval and reflections on the poet inspired by the changes. Thus, anaphors of the street in Necatigil’s poetry will be re-evaluated within a conceptual context

Özet

Behçet Necatigil, Türk edebiyatında "evlerin şairi" olarak bilinir. Ev, Behçet Necatigil için kişinin hem kendi iç dünyasına açılması hem de sokakla oluşturduğu karşıtlık bakımından önemli bir duraktır. Şimdiye kadar yapılan Behçet Necatigil'le ilgili çalışmalarda, Necatigil'in ev algısı üzerinde pek çok kez durulmuş fakat onun sokakla kurduğu toplumsal ve sanatsal ilişkiye fazla değinilmemiştir. Oysa hem mekân bakımından hem de "ev"le oluşturduğu karşıtlık bakımından sokak, Necatigil'in dışarıya açılan bir gözü olduğu gibi, değişen sosyal şartların izlendiği, kültürel ve bireysel hafızanın depolandığı "ev" kadar önemli bir duraktır.Mahalleleri, evleri, bir başka deyişle birbirinden ayrı olarak gözüken yaşam alanlarını birbirine bağlayan sokak, zaman içerisinde değişen görüntüsüyle şaire bir yandan şehrin ve toplumun nabzını tutma imkânını sunar. Öte yandan şair, bireysel duygulanımlar etrafında sokakla nasıl bir ilişki kurulması gerektiğini okuruyla paylaşır. Eskinin canlı bir şekilde hatırlanmasına imkân vermeyecek derecede değişen sokak, hem güvensizliği ile hem de can sıkıntılarının giderilmesi için insanlara sonsuz seçenekler sunan ayartıcı bir mekanizma olmasıyla şiirdeki yerini alır. Bunların yanı sıra Necatigil şiirinde sokak, tıpkı ev gibi ona şiirsel yaratma cesaretini veren önemli bir güdüleyicidir. Çalışmada, Necatigil'in şiirlerinde geçen sokak görüntüleri, hem toplumsal değişim hem de değişimin şairde uyandırdığı akisler etrafında değerlendirilmeye çalışılacak ve böylece sokağın Necatigil şiirindeki gönderimleri kavramsal bir çerçevede yeniden ele alınacaktır
