The Search For A Contemporary Language On Stage In the Context of Gezi Plays

Abstract

The `Gezi Park` movements, classified as an urban social movement, emerged as a debate on the right to the city and turned into a broad-based social contract, in which social and political demands were incorporated. The `Gezi Park` movements which became a phenomenon in a short period of time created unprecedented tremors in many areas, from public opposition to social life, and from politics to art. The artistic productions transformed into a means of resistance since the beginning of the movements not only gained the `Gezi Park` movements a unique identity, but also played a part in conveying the concept of `Gezi Park` movements into the future as historical documents. In this study, we discussed how the `Gezi Park` movements are reflected in the theatrical plays by examining the plays written out in the process. What is observed in these plays is the process of conveying the current events into the future by the playwrights who are the witnesses of the present age with a contemporary language and a new aesthetic perception

Özet

Kentli bir toplumsal hareket olarak sınıflandırılan Gezi Parkı eylemleri, kent hakkı tartışmaları çerçevesinde ortaya çıkmış, bu süreçte toplumsal ve siyasal taleplerin de eklemlendiği geniş tabanlı bir toplumsal ittifaka dönüşmüştür. Kısa sürede bir fenomen haline gelen Gezi, toplumsal muhalefetten, sosyal yaşama, güncel siyasetten sanata kadar pek çok alanda eşi görülmemiş depremler yaratmıştır. Eylemlerin başından beri bir direniş aracına dönüşen sanatsal üretimler Gezi'ye özgün kimliğini kazandırırken tarihsel birer belge yerine geçerek Gezi'nin geleceğe taşınmasında rol oynamıştır. Bu çalışmada Gezi Parkı direnişinin tiyatro oyunlarına nasıl yansıdığını süreçte kaleme alınan oyunları inceleyerek tartıştık. Söz konusu oyunlarda çağının tanığı olan yazarların, yaşananları sanatın süzgecinden geçirerek çağdaş bir dil ve yeni bir estetik algıyla geleceğe aktarma çabasında oldukları gözlenir
