Abstract

In the ancient text studies in Turkey, consonants and a few long vowels (ā, i, ū,ō) are marked, but “closed e” sounds are not indicated in the transcription words ofArabic-Persian origin. Different letters and signs seen in these are evaluated throughthe classical form of the word and associated with spelling error. However, it isnecessary to evaluate the borrowed words in a synonymous point of view so that thestudies carried out on the history of phonetics can be more overreaching. In this article, “closed e” in the Arabic quotations in Nehcü’l-Ferādis has beenstudied on the basis of the signs which are not compatible to the classical form andwhich have phonetical value. In the study carried out within the scope of the connectinglink of spelling-phonetics, the words whose first vowels are written with “fathah+ya”,the words whose first letter is with kasrah in the source or mediating language butmarked with “fathah” in NF, the words which have “both signs” together in theirfirst letter and the ones whose first letter is marked as “fathah+ya+cazm” have beendiscussed. It has been seen that fifteen of the identified twenty-eight words fit in the groupof “indeterminate e” (bė̄-ġāyet, bė̄-ḫaber, bė̄-hūş, bė̄-meze, bė̄-namāz, bė̄-nihāyet;bė̄hūde, bė̄zār, dė̄v, dė̄vāne, hė̄ç, pė̄şe, tė̄z; ė̄min), twenty-three of them were written asthe form which can be read through the sound /ė/ (cėlve, dėhḳān, dėrem, ėfṭār, ėḥyā,fėrişte; Bėsṭāmi, ʿėyādet; ėḥrām, Ėḳlimā, ʿėlm; bėyʿet, vėyrān).Moreover, the subject was studied with a diachronic point of view and in what formthe words mentioned in this precious work of Khorezm Turkic survive was presentedto the attention of the people.

Özet

Türkiye’deki eski metin çalışmalarında Arapça-Farsça kökenli kelimelerin yazıçevriminde ünsüzler ve birkaç uzun ünlü (ā, i, ū, ō) işaretlenmekte, “kapalı e” sesleriise belirtilmemektedir. Bunlarda görülen farklı harf veya işaretler ise kelimenin klasikbiçimi üzerinden değerlendirilerek genellikle imla hatasına bağlanmaktadır. Oysa sesbilgisi tarihi üzerine sürdürülen çalışmaların daha kapsayıcı hâle gelebilmesi içinalıntı kelimelerin de eş zamanlı bakış açısıyla irdelenmesi gerekmektedir.Bu makalede, klasik biçime uymayan ve sesçil değer taşıyan işaretlerdenyola çıkılarak Nehcü’l-Ferādis’teki Arapça-Farsça alıntılarda “kapalı e” konusuaraştırıldı. İmla-fonoloji bağlantısı çerçevesinde yürütülen incelemede ilk ünlüsü“üstün+ye” ile yazılmış, kaynak veya aracı dilde ilk harfi esreli olmasına karşılıkNF’de “üstün”le harekelenmiş, ilk harfinde her “iki hareke”yi birlikte taşıyan ve ilkhecesi “üstün+ye+cezim” biçiminde işaretlenmiş kelimeler ele alındı.Tespit edilen yirmi sekiz kelimeden on beşinin “meçhul e” grubuna girdiği (bė̄-ġāyet, bė̄-ḫaber, bė̄-hūş, bė̄-meze, bė̄-namāz, bė̄-nihāyet; bė̄hūde, bė̄zār, dė̄v, dė̄vāne,mė̄ve, hė̄ç, pė̄şe, tė̄z; ė̄min), on üçünün /ė/ sesiyle okunacak biçimde yazıldığı (cėlve,dėhḳān, dėrem, ėfṭār, ėḥyā, fėrişte; Bėsṭāmi, ʿėyādet; ėḥrām, Ėḳlimā, ʿėlm; bėyʿet,vėyrān) görüldü. Ayrıca, konuya bir de art zamanlı bakış açısıyla yaklaşılarak Harezm Türkçesininbu değerli eserindeki sözü edilen kelimelerin günümüz Türk dili coğrafyasında neşekilde yaşadığı dikkatlere sunuldu.
