Rodent control in the poultry house

Abstract

Summary: Rats and mice are rejected animals in poultry houses. Rodents can do significant damages in houses: they consume and spoil large amounts of feed, damage building structures, destroy insulation, damage electrical wiring with resulting fires. Along with these, they are also very capable of transmitting diseases and ectoparasites. The first step in rodent control is to eliminate the entry points. The next step in controlling a rodent problem is to reduce the population using baits, rodenticides, trace powders, traps. Rodenticides should be used with traps for effective control. In conclusion rodent control should be a regular and continual part of poultry farm management.

Özet: Fare ve sıçanlar kanatlı kümeslerinde istenmeyen hayvanlardır. Kemirgenler kümeslerde birçok önemli hasarlara neden olurlar: fazla miktarda yem tüketirler ve dökerler, kümes yapısına zarar verirler, izolasyonu tahrip ederler, elektrik kablolarına hasar vererek yangın oluşturabilirler. Bunun yanında pek çok hastalığı ve ektoparazitleri de naklederler. Kemirgenlerin kontrolünde ilk adım giriş noktalarını yok etmektir. Sonraki adım ise tuzak yemler, rodentisitler, iz tozlan, tuzaklar kullanarak kemirgen populasyonunu azaltmaktır. Rodentisitlerin tuzaklarla beraber kullanılması daha etkili olmaktadır. Sonuç olarak kemirgen kontrol programı kümes yönetiminin düzenli ve devamlı bir bölümünü oluşturmaktadır.
