Fistulography (Sinography) in dogs and cats

Abstract
The aim of this study is to establish the length of the fistulous tract, the shape, the determination of the relation with the adjacent tissues and organs in the fistulas which occure in cats and dogs for different reasons. The results wants to use for practising. In the study, 4 cats and 12 dogs of different breeds, ages and sexes, which were brought to the University of Ankara, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Surgery, were used as materials. After the histories of our cases were obtained, firstly the plain radiography were performed by the guideness of a drill, and then indirect radiography (fistulography) were taken. The results were evaluated eventually. In a conclusion, fistulography was evaluated as necessary method to obtain in formation about the dimension of the fistula, their shape and the relation with the adjacent tissues and organs, which would be useful for a proper tretment.
Özet
Bu çalışmada kedi ve köpeklerde değişik nedenlerle oluşan fıstüllerde; fıstül kanalının boyu, şekli ve bağlantılı olduğu komşu doku ve organlarla ilişkisinin açığa çıkarılması ve sonuçlarının pratiğe aktarılması amaçlandı. Çalışmada AÜ Veteriner Fakültesi Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı Kliniğine getirilen çeşitli ırk, yaş ve cinsiyetteki 4 kedi ve 12 köpek materyali oluşturdu. Olguların anamnez bilgileri alındıktan sonra anestezi altında fistülün önce sonda rehberliğinde direkt grafisi, daha sonra da indirekt grafisi (fistülografisi) yapılarak sonuçlar değerlendirildi. Sonuç olarak; kedi ve köpeklerde çeşitli nedenlerle oluşan fıstüllerin boyutu, şekli ve ilişkili olduğu dokular ve organlar hakkında bilgi sağlamada gerekli bir yöntem olduğu ve sağaltıma ışık tutacağı kanısına varıldı.
